Interface for Blender <-> NEURON

Project description

BlenderNEURON allows to easily visualize computational neuroscience models created using NEURON simulator in the 3D graphics toolset Blender.

The tool allows the visualization of neuronal trees (morphology) and simulated activity (compartment membrane potentials). It supports visualization of single neurons and networks. The tool was created by researchers at Arizona State University.

More examples can be seen on BlenderNEURON.org and on NeuroML-DB.org

This Python package is Part 1 of 2 (the client), which enables NEURON to communicate with Blender. Part 2 is the Blender addon (the server), which allows Blender to process messages from NEURON. Download Part 2 from BlenderNEURON.org.
